MEET LESLIE OCHS
Originally from the Houston area, Leslie is a more recent transplant to Dallas, moving post-graduation from Texas State University! Leslie loves Jesus, her handsome husband Kenny, and her sweet, golden retriever, Remy. Anyone who knows Leslie, knows her love for all things art, design, style, textiles and whimsy. Leslie was the "go to girl" for event planning, re-creating something seen on Pinterest, or even designing/making custom halloween costumes for friends. With a love for design, painting, graphic design, floral design, sewing, calligraphy, hand-lettering, sparkles, ribbon, photography, and probably anything else you could name that fits into the category of art and design, Leslie is an extraordinarily inspired creative! Because of her love for art on every level, it was an impossibility to choose one specific aspect, so, in the context of Alice & Apricot, Leslie's creativity, originality and inspiration, is unlimited! Leslie's own wedding was recently featured in The Knot Magazine, and reflects the design, style, creativity and artistic brand that is, Alice & Apricot!
Owner/artist Leslie Amos Ochs, is often asked about the inspiration for the name of her company, Alice & Apricot. The answer: Leslie's grandmother, Sue Alice Amos! Since her earliest years, Leslie grew up working in the barn with her grandmother, creating arts and crafts to sell at the "First Monday Trade Days" venue, in Canton, Texas. While Leslie was in high school, her grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which resulted in her death. Alice & Apricot was named in honor and memory of the woman who inspired Leslie with all things artistic and beautiful!
